As promised this is the first part of the comical magical mistery tour that were my vacations in N.J.
Buying tickets
Yep this is the first stop. Have you tried buying tickets via the web in other country which is not the U.S.? No? Dante’s inferno is a playground compared…
No availability, no response from the system, having to register even though I was already a user, etc. Nice! Really nice…
After finally deciding to do the reservations via web and actually acquiring our tickets on an actual ticket office, we were ready to let my sister that we’re really going to N.J.
Arriving to the airport
According to the fantabolous rules in order, we have to get to the airport 3 hours in advance to our actual departure, going backwards from 9:00 a.m.:
6 a.m. Get into the cab with two “little” pieces of luggage… Did I took the passports from the table?.. Yep…
4:30 a.m. Getting up to take a quick shower and getting ready for the cab to arrive… There are the passports…
1:00 a.m. Finally deciding that nothing else is needed and that the luggage is ready. Check that the tickets, passports, visas and money are in place…
6:00 p.m. (Sunday) Reviewing that the things we need to tke with us are already packed and in place. Where are the passports?
Getting into the gate
The guy in the ticket office told us: “Since you already have your boarding passes, get into the first class lane (we’re traveling business class) and get your luggage registered…”
Half an hour later an after looking that the business lane moved quicker, we got to the counter.
Famous comforting word from an airlane employee: “Gee, that bag weighs more than the allowed pounds…”
Passing things from one bag to the other to balance the weight among them in not time whatsoever record holder: Me.
Quick breakfast before getting into the gate, who changed (upgraded) the terminal? Where’s the restaurant?
Finally we arrived to the gate.
(To be continued…)
