The last one of the series.

A day in one’s life is not the same… The uniqueness of each day is ruled by the events in that day… Each one of them put the flavor and the tone…

Last Friday was unique in every way to my family: it started a little rough at the beginning and around 9 a.m. it stopped to welcome the new member of my sister’s family, mine’s and every other family related to her.

She is a beautiful girl (I know, she’s my brand new niece, said the proud uncle) and she’s going to make her parents very happy and proud… (Again, I just know it).

I can’t tell you enough M, how lucky you’re having the parents you have!

Welcome to this journey called life, little one!

The second event was a matter of time to happen.

After several arguments like: “You’re over educated”, “Your curriculum is impressive but the job is not that good for you”(?), ” You don’t have the experience”, etc., my wife nailed a job that she liked and started a week ago.

Her change was amazing, even if it not noticeable to the other people,  I can see her glow with a different light… I’m in awe…

Congrats tit!

I haven’t wrote in these pages lately due to lack of time and will. Also, because I have too many things in my mind. And because three different events happened, and they will shape the rest of the lives of the people involved.

First, last Sunday I received a call to my cell telling me that something terrible happened: my brother in law was dead. Plain and (not that) simple. And that my younger sister was nowhere to be found.

A year ago (or so), their parents received a call where they were told that he was kidnapped. After several hours of struggle and pain, they realized that the call was a terrible prank and that he was O.K.

Now it was my turn to solve the authenticity of the call. I tried to reach both my sister and him through several phone calls. After trying for a while, I made the decision to contact my parents, which at the moment were in N.J. waiting for the arrival of my second niece, M.

After doing the call to find out if they ave any other means to reach them, all hell broke loose.

The events, to painful to describe them, ended up confirming the news: L was dead.

My wife and I went to support my sister and to provide any professional and fraternal comfort that we could give.

My parents took the (rather painful) decision to come back to Mexico to support my sister and L’s family.

As in every tragic death, everybody was in shock and in disbelief.

Even as I wasn’t that close to their relation I felt his death deeply because he was not supposed to die like that.

The other thing was the complete aversion? carelessness? that I felt from somebody that shouldn’t show that…

Basically, I am in shock and I can’t comprehend such coldness.

I need to get it out from my system. And I’m working on it as I write.

I’m on vacation, taking advantage of Memorial Day’s week, so there are no news at all… Well, with the exception of:

• One of my internet acquantices (I’ll rather call her my friend but I’ll wait to do so) is having surgery as I write. It’s good, though. She’s having that to help her solve some pains she has… Get well soon (you know who you are!)!
• The beard and the hair are gone… The weather did not help me at all, and I’m back to my “juvenile” look… Farewell, “Grizzly Adams” look, see you in October(?)
• Doing some things that I don’t do very often while working, like getting interested by the UEFA Champions League, the Euro Cup and stuff… I don’t even like football!
• Catching up with blogs and other internet stuff…

P.S. In a scale of 1 - 10 I give Indy 4 a 6…

Again as in 2001 and 2004, on Wednesday I received the notice that I was re-certified as a CFPS for three more years!

A thing on my to-do list could be checked now!

It sad when someone disrespects you by getting away with whatever they want to do just because the “I am paying” clause…

It’s sadder since that someone is very close to you.

Sad so sad.

*Update: this is one of those situations that my education and good manners got in the way. That’s all.

As I go to my mental “to do” list, I can see things that are attainable and things that aren’t, the trick is to know where to invest the energy left after the daily job.

What to do, what to do…

In one of my social networks, there was an event that I really liked. The objective is to post more than ten pictures of common objects and tell what object is in the Picture. The challenge is that the picture won’t show the entire object but only a portion of it or if it’s shown completely, photographed in a angle that don’t give it up at first sight.

I guessed two of the objects (out of twelve) but I was beaten by seconds by another colleague in one…

Hmm… My “still yet to born” niece is coming! Her due date is in June - July… I can only guess that my mother is already bitting her nails!.. By the way, her code name is “M”… Auntie and uncle (read my wife and me) enrolled in a name guessing game as with my first niece… With not much success, may I add …

Anyway, I know she’s going to be a blessing to the family in the same way as “G” is… She’s so smart!

This week Iron Man hits the movie theatres! (wake up people, keep with the pace!), and as the nerd that I am, surely I will go to watch it… In several pages around the tubes, there are a bunch of preview videos and one of the most impressing is the one showing Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) getting into “the suit”. Great visual and special effects! (Are they still called special? Or just visual? I wonder…)

After dealing with “I got a bad feeling about this” and “did you read the news today” feelings, I am doing my first posting via the Facebook applcation.
